If you just want to pick up some meatballs and mashed potatoes, you don't need to drive there. Even for furniture, if you live close enough to bike there, you can go to look at the furniture and decide what to buy, if anything. Then either arrange delivery, or come back later with a vehicle big enough to take home your purchase.
