...State frozen in the dark without water, they blame it on Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and fuck off to a luxury hotel in Cancun. Meanwhile, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez raises $4 million dollars in Texas relief aid, and helps out in a Huston food bank while Ted Cruz is spending his time on the Sean Hannity show, blaming his daughters for the junket to Cancun.
I would say AOC has officially REVOKED Cruz's twitter trolling license FOR LIFE, wouldn't you?

(4,158 posts)Carnival Cruise Lines is offering a special, limited cruise where you leave senior citizens behind, trapped in the snow with no electricity or running water.
It's called The Ted Cruise.

(114,666 posts)but don't expect Cancun Cruz to catch on. He's really slow at this working for his constituents sort of thing.
The power grid mess predates him and goes all the way back to that secessionist bug so many Texans have up their butts. There's a good discussion of this at https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/17/politics/texas-power-grid/index.html Still, the worst thing about this is that not only did he do fuck all for his state, he seemingly had no clue that he was supposed to do anything.
Power isn't going to be the main problem, that's slowly being restored. What is going to provide a harsh lesson for most Texans long term is the water situation. That is going to take a very long time to fix as so many homes have burst pipes and there are only so many plumbers to fix them. There are going to have to be water delivery trucks all over Texas (except El Paso, which is on the western grid) and that $4 million isn't going to last long.
Old Ted had better ask some Democrats what he's supposed to do about this, organizing water delivery through FEMA, maybe convincing Abbot to call out the Guard to help with rural outreach.
And if Beto O'Rourke doesn't run against him in 2024, it's a missed opportunity. He can pound Cruz into the ground like a tent peg with this kind of dumbassery on Cruz's part.

(5,377 posts)Hes also raising money for supplies and tonight is driving from El Paso to deliver water further into the state.
So people have a good chance to see whos going to work for them.
I wish there could have been a recount in his Senate race.
