De-regulated market, stupid customers who don't read and understand the risk. People signed up for cheap electricity sold at "wholesale" rate without understanding that they are exposed to massive expense in the event the wholesale rate spikes, as it did in this case. Hey, our electricity only costs 5¢/kWh unelss it costs a mind-shattering, obscene, amount more, like say $9.00/kWh, in which case your monthly bill could go from $75 a month, to $13,500 a month.

They gambled that what happened wouldn't happen. Now someone will have to pay the bill, as that is what the customers signed up for.

Which is a company that allows residential customers to buy power at wholesale prices. When Texas’ grid faltered and energy costs spiked these customers were on the hook.

In ordinary times they likely saved money on their monthly bill but in situations like what we saw last week were vulnerable to price fluctuations.

Plus the cost of manufacturing the item. A lab does that and passes the cost to your dentist.

It is not all profit to the dentist.

So yeah, he probably makes more than you and me, but still...

if you get the patient to sign up to finance the work. The same dental work costs about 1/3 the US cost in Mexico, so somebody is stuffing away the cash.

Saying they would spread it out over a longer period. No way they will go after these thieves. Oil and gas pay for all of the GOP.
