On my morning drive, which takes about an hour round trip, with a 30 minute layover, I heard this, about 3 times. They were really pushing this hard.
"Illegal Border Crossings Rise As Some People Try Multiple Times
The number of migrants getting caught trying to cross illegally into the U.S. from Mexico is going up. That's partly because migrants believe that border security is looser under the Biden administration than it was under the Trump administration. But there's actually another factor at play. As NPR's Carrie Kahn reports, the numbers are higher because so many are trying to cross multiple times."

Really, NPR? You polled them before they were deported to know what they were thinking?
Corporate will be beating this drum non stop, but to hear it from NPR is disheartening.
Koch sponsored xenophobic crap.

Do you have any evidence that they made this up?

(29,366 posts)2. Absurd on it's face
Please tell me by what means they know that a large diverse group of people, all crossing the border for their own personal reasons, "think" that security is more lax under Biden?
Is NPR giving away ouija boards for Koch level endowments now?
brooklynite
(96,882 posts)4. Perhaps they interviewed people in Mexico?
Perhaps they talked to Government officials in Mexico?
I don't know, but I find that mainstream media outlets rarely make up stories.

(29,366 posts)6. When you make a broad brush claim like that
A reputable news organization normally backs it up with facts.
I enjoy NPR.
Big Click and Clack fan here.
NPR brings wonderful culture and diversity.
I am not condemning them as a whole.
Every once in a while, one like this slips through.

contrary to most news organizations reporters on the border and south of the border.

With zilch fact to back it up.

the type the Biden Administration is proposing.
orangecrush
(29,366 posts)19. Probably correct
I also read the Kochs were not Trump fans.
I may be mistaken.
Blue_true
(31,261 posts)21. They are not fans of his.
Their goal is making money. From what I understand of them, they are heavily involved in ranching and some other agriculture. Those businesses likely use a lot of immigrant labor, that may drive their position on immigration reform.
