Prosecutors already know whats in the tax returns. They don't petition the court to present evidence to the grand jury if they aren't confident there is a crime.

perhaps they would show that he's not worth billions.

In my estimate of his character and in the absence of criminal issues, that would be a reason for him to hide them.
