Here's a description of one of the most violent people at Jan 6. He describes getting involved in the riot entirely based on Trump's comments. He wants released so he can finish high school

I have individuals that sound like him. He's autistic and has a lower than average IQ along with homelessness.

He doesn't need prison. He needs a case manager who can get him into a residential program and address his issues.

It's entirely possible that he is not intellectually responsible for his crimes.

But "I was only following orders" is not a reputable legal defense.

They all understand "Go here, do this". They've all heard Trump on television and have become upset. They are all under state care with Department of Mental Health, receiving services including residential care.

I hope they 552 him so he gets the services he needs. He'll probably be a ward of the state for the rest of his days but at least he'll get help.

I work with men just like this guy. They hear things, they barely comprehend and they react. My men have lower IQs yet most lived on their own at one time and learned to fend for themselves. I could see any one of them caught up in something like this.
