Pence refused to do that favor and hand the government over to trDump's militia junta of violent goons so trDump harbors a visceral hatred for Pence.

This reality alone connects trDump directly to the 1/6/2021 coup de' tat more than anything else. trDump wanted Pence dead, trDump wanted the US Capitol trashed because he could not finagle a second term in the White House.
