(24,365 posts)LOL....
I would absolutely love to see a Boston Terrier in the White House. After all, that was the Official Bicentennial Dog!
My ol' bud Mr. BB would have been a gracious host;
Plus he would have fit right in with the Secret Service!
I jest, of course. It makes me smile ear to ear to know that we have a real family of loving people living there and a President who knows how to do the job, is competent and actually loves animals.
They could have a pet Wallaby, for all I care!
Ka-Dinh Oy
(11,686 posts)Nah, despite the fact I favor German Shepherds I like most dog breeds. Those little Boston have an adorable personality. They are bold little critters.
A HERETIC I AM
(24,365 posts)He crossed the Rainbow Bridge back in 2004 and I miss him every single day.
He just simply loved everyone, and didn't have a mean bone in his body, but as I said, he didn't put up with any shit and wasn't afraid of anything!
A friend had a Wolf/Shepherd mix that was pretty big, and when it was outside, she kept it on a chain. BB was walking away from him and the big dog snuck up and nipped BB on the hindquarters!
Well, my little guy, who was outweighed by that big dog by at least 100 pounds, turned in a split second and went after him! I mean, barking and snarling like I had never seen! The Shepherd freaked out, probably not expecting it, and backed off, cowering!
Mr. Beau Brummel was awesome.
He made fast friends easily, loved children and loved to have a good time.
My nephew has 2 Shepherds and they are both excellent dogs, so I absolutely see the appeal of the breed. But I'm partial to dogs, full stop! I like cats just fine, but with a few exceptions, I'll take a dog over a cat!

(11,686 posts)I would not mind at all being owned by a Boston.

"Secret Service Dog Haz Hiz Eyes On You!" but I misplaced it somewhere on the interwebs!
BB was cool.
He had a cat. Here he is with Fred;
They were buds.

(15,241 posts)Dogs have sensitive noses, you know.
The security agencies would have normally run a complete bug sweep on transition. Hope they also vacuumed up the louses, lices, trumpies, kushnettles, etc.

(36,775 posts)Are those Trump's gold drapes?
A HERETIC I AM
(24,365 posts)I get what you are saying, but.......
There is an interesting story behind those drapes.
They should. They were designed for Bill Clintons Oval Office in 1993 by Little Rock decorator Kaki Hockersmith. But they have turned out to be one of the constants in our democracy, gracing the most powerful windows in the land during the administrations of four of the past five presidents.
Talk about a backdrop to history.
From a story in The Washington Post

(24,365 posts)I mean, seriously!
I know people have column inches to fill, and often need to generate a story when there is none, but come on!
It always amazes me when I read right wingers commenting how the left just hated Trumpy because it was as if we had nothing else to do today, so whatever!
It's like...are you fucking blind?
Never, and I mean NEVER trust a man that doesn't like animals.

(12,377 posts)Republicans dont mind spreading around Covid, not concerned about killing off the old folks. So Im not surprised that they consider old dogs ugly... maybe they put them down once they are no longer cute puppies.

Im a feline worshipper in my adult life and physical restraints keep me from adding a big big dog to my family, but I feel great about Champ and Major being in the peoples house!

(49,978 posts)Newsmax Host and Guests Skewered After Mocking President Biden's Senior Dog, Champ
"Hes in better shape than any of you and smarter than all of you combined," said Keith Olbermann.
Newsmax host Greg Kelly and his guests felt the wrath of Twitter users and even another network news program after they randomly mocked President Bidens dog, Champ, on Friday.
Did you see the dog? Kelly asked on his show, referring to Champ, the Bidens' 12-year-old German shepherd. Doesnt he look a little, uh, a little rough? I love dogs, but this dog needs a bath and a comb and all kinds of love and care. Ive never seen a dog in the White House like this.
Kelly's guests also took shots at Champ, and their random attacks did not go over well; social media users were quick to respond.
"Quick message to @gregkellyusa @newsmax @CraigSmpa and @DougWead: Fuck You. This is a 12-year old German Shepherd - a senior dog. And youre insulting his APPEARANCE? Hes in better shape than any of you - and smarter than all of you combined," Keith Olbermann wrote.

(22,669 posts)One for each of them!
Such sharp contrast to the regime crime boss that was there before. You know the one. The lumpy looking POS that went out with his tail between his legs, head hung facing the ground. The treasonous insurrection instigating POS with the orange colored face.
