3. Manchin seems to have white privilege to believe that women can't be competent.

I’m sure Manchin is enjoying his position of power as the Senate spoiler.

as to make such an ass of himself that his assery can't be ignored. Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I thought he already had. He certainly has the attention of every Democrat, and sometimes that's not a good thing.

And Sinema too. I contributed to her campaign to get a “D” in that seat instead of an “R”. And we got that far, but she has been disappointing, too. M
I want REAL “D’s” in those seats, NOT wobbly ones or “alleged D’s”. Those do us no good when it’s time to take a stand.

I keep going back to “is you IS or is you AIN’T?”

6. As noted in replies to the tweet, West Virginia is insanely red.

Manchin is about as progressive as one can be and still hope to hold office in that state.

Plus, he knows Dems need every single seat, so he's going to milk that. "What's in it for me? What you got to offer?"

Even in times of everything's-on-fire crisis, there's always some asshole looking to exploit.

15. Actually, it's not quite so insanely red anymore.

Commuter rail lines extended to West Virginia have meant an influx of people working in DC, Montgomery County, and even Northern VA, have been moving there over the past 2 decades to find less-expensive housing.

Slowly, slowly, WVA is being dragged into the 20th Century.

If Manchin starts hearing from constituents with WVA area codes and ZIP codes, he WILL pay attention.

Dems need to organize on the ground in Martinsburg, Morgantown, Wheeling, Charleston, Parkersburg, Huntington, etc., and make the case for how the Biden Administration agenda will assist economic recovery in those cities, provide jobs and opportunity, bring health care, debt relief, increased educational quality and better infrastructure.

Then get them calling Manchin's office to urge him to be on board with the Biden Administration and stop obstructing them.

It's simple, it can work.

The organizing principles Stacey Abrams uses so successfully for election success have more than one potential superpower.

informatively,
Bright
