I have seen very bad accidents but when the engine is dislodge from the vehicle? Makes me think speed had something to do the accident? This is my opinion.

(9,998 posts)They're talking a lot about his plans to golf again after his back injury.
Nobody has indicated that his life is in danger. He's in surgery for multiple leg injuries, which don't sound life threatening.

(23,338 posts)Yeah, excess speed was probably required to remove the engine. The talking heads are mentioning leg surgeries, no mention of the back that's been plaguing him lately. He's been trying to rehab his back to return to competitive golf.

(9,998 posts)If he's in surgery for multiple leg injuries, a concern is probably that he might not walk again.

(21,714 posts)I was up that night, and I couldn't stop listening to the news. Car accident, and a broken arm. They always had to mention the broken arm. This one is multiple leg injuries.

(25,532 posts)Holiday weekend I think. Everyone went to sleep, and I got in my car and started driving to the casinos in Atlantic City from my moms place next door in Ventnor wherein I live now and the news broke on KYW radio. It was interesting because the medical consultant said that when he saw the car he couldnt imagine anyone couldve survived it. He was quite right. A real horror.

(21,714 posts)I just remember the broken arm for some reason. All the news reports mentioned that.

(10,123 posts)Ben Hogan came back from bad injuries suffered in a car accident (head on with a bus in the wrong lane in fog) to win six of his nine majors. He was about 8 years younger than Tiger is now.
With Tiger's back problems (5th surgery a couple of months ago), this may well finish his competitive PGA career.

(23,338 posts)It looks like the side door has a painted logo for Genesis (Upscale Hyundai) brand, and he just finished as commentator for the Genesis Invitational tournament. Maybe this was a tournament courtesy car, to be used for the week, then sold as "used" by the dealer.
He might have been "testing the envelope" on his way to the golf course.
