This is news?

(130,264 posts)Maybe there was other news, like Senate hearings, but I guess we won't get to hear about those because this is so much more important.

(3,921 posts)The viewers of MSNBC don't care about this stuff, but for some reason the 'suits' think we do.
There are networks like HLN and E! which cover celeb stories they could put this shit on - nobody else cares/wants to see this stuff.

I sincerely hope Rachel breaks ranks and gives us 10 minutes on the injured golfer and 50 minutes on the Senate hearings. Didnt someone try to overthrow the US government, or something?

(21,270 posts)That would require hiring a bunch of reporters and that would hurt their profit margins. More profitable to hire a handful of people who can't stop talking.

(16,698 posts)The 24 hour news channels are desperate for content almost everyday. They'll beat one story to death to avoid having to create additional content. Give them a self packaged story like this and they'll ride it for hours. A half hour news conference will be covered in its entirety. Even CBS evening news covered it for about 8 minutes at the opening of their 22 minute broadcast.

(249 posts)It really reminded me of the TV coverage from a helicopter following OJ Simpson down the freeway!! It was close to the same minus all the police cars in pursuit!!
