I live near LA, and given the ridiculous amount of coverage Kobe Bryant's untimely death got, I'm not surprised. This was a horrific event and I hope Tiger bounces back. But, this is just nuts.

Of someone who plays in a little watched sport. What does Wood do that makes him this important to generate non stop coverage?

Slow news day? Nothing else going on in the entire country? MSNBC to cheap to roll out a live news crew when they can just grab cheap news from the pool?

In the car, I had heard hours before about the accident, couldn't believe they had special report that went on and on. I know he is famous but. All I could think is its so wonderfully calm with Joe they needed something to talk about.
