'Adding insult to injury': Texans who couldn't work from home because they didn't have power will have to take vacation or forfeit their pay for days they missed, their employers say

Dozens of employers in Texas have told employees unable to get to work or work remotely because of power loss that must use vacation for any days missed
Those with no vacation days left or those unwilling to forfeit holiday, however, will be forced to go without pay
Among the employers in question are several large entities, including Bell Textron Inc., United Ag & Turf, BAE Systems, and even the City of Dallas
It comes as many in the state have received sky-high electricity bills in the region of thousands of dollars, amid surges in wholesale pricing during Storm Uri

When I worked from home doing call center work, any time I couldn't work due to a cable outage or a power outage (cable outage more common though) I could use vacation time or take the time without pay.
