(1,002 posts)Jeez, cut the woman a little slack. "Republicanese" is when the Trump cult attacks Biden for the tiniest hesitation in one of his speeches or accuses him of sliding into cognitive decline if he seems to slur one word.
A typo beats a rifle on the floor of the House every single time in my book.

(54,378 posts)The only difference is that it was inadvertent very sloppy editing, and not deliberate, like using "Democrat" instead of Democratic. But in general, Republicans seem to post with their own sloppy version of English, one that NO schoolchild anywhere in the English-speaking world ever learned, but one that Republicans nevertheless seem to use and understand. For a brief introduction:
EXCERPTS FROM THE OFFICIAL DICTIONARY OF REPUBLICANESE
In Republicanese, many words that sound alike may be spelled differently at random. A few prominent examples:
In Republicanese, the following words may be spelled at random using any of the three ways given:
A.) Two, Too, To
B.) Their, They're, There
c.) Your, Yore, You're
The Republicanese version of Robin Hood therefore starts with "In days of you're...."
The only rule is that the correct use of them as in English is never permitted twice in a row.
Words with single letters that change meaning when that letter is doubled must never be used in correct English context. The classic example is lose vs. loose. In Republicanese, if you do not win an election, then you loose that election. Conversely, if your (Republicanese: youre) belt is too tight, you need it more lose in order to be comfortable. Another example would be the Republicanese, I met Donald Trump, and he was rudder than I imagined, vs. I grabbed the ruder and was able to steer the boat to shore.
In Republicanese, as opposed to English, an apostrophe is used to form a plural. But it must be done at random, never systematically. For example, Bill and Hillary are "the Clinton's," but Bill, Chelsea and Hillary are "the Clintons." The other way around is also correct. In Republicanese, either form is correct as long as it is not spelled the same way twice in a row.

(81,267 posts)Terrific to see a challenger step forward, and this early!
Shell have lots of time to build a war chest. About time we corrected a BIG Booboo named Boebert.
And btw, orleans, Bang-Bang Boebert is a FABULOUS branding idea! Really rolls off the tongue nicely, and its funny, too! Invites laughing at her and turning her into a joke.
I just saw something on TV about the republi-CON strategy of delegitimizing their rivals. Well, WE can do that, TOO.

(1,002 posts)I live in a very rural part of Colorado's 3rd District and to my complete disbelief (and disgust), I got stuck with Boebert as my Congress Thing. There's a sign for her on the highway near my house which reads:
LAUREN BOEBERT
FREEDOM
I have been contemplating putting up my own sign right across from it on my side of the road:
IMPEACH
BANG BANG BOEBERT!
That should piss off a few of the Trump worshipping good old boys around here.

(5,897 posts)Members of Congress arent impeached. They can be expelled by their House, but the only way to remove them from office is to defeat them electorally. But I like the idea!

(33,346 posts)What you say is true, but with caveats.
True, but they could be. The House has that power, but they wouldn't want the Senate trying one of their members and the Senate wouldn't like the House impeaching a Senator. (The latter happened long ago and the Senate would not convict).
The list of expelled members is so short that the only practical way to kick them out is as you say.

(5,897 posts)I wasn't aware that there had been a case where a House member was impeached. Yes, that would raise certain interesting questions.

I supported Busch last time, but I won't put a penny in until someone can prove this is winnable.
