Florida will join them in September, thanks to a ballot measure passed on Election Day 2020.

(2,636 posts)$15 is a livable wage, everywhere except Coastal California and NYC, Hawaii, maybe a few other areas. Manchin doesn't want his constituents to make $15. He wants them to make $11, which is still less than $2000 a month.
Seems to me Manchin can look to the Seattle example, and split the difference. $13.50.
Then let it rise to $15 over the next four years. A rising tide lifts all boats.
Fun fact: dithering over 50¢ an hour, or $1000 a year when income from all those productivity gains the last 30+years went straight to the 1%.
Biden needs to return to Clinton era tax rates, or better yet, Reagan era rates, and impose a wealth surtax on billionaires.
We have the money for health care, UBI, education, just not the right priorities or the political willpower.
flotsam
