https://www.wsj.com/articles/bidens-stimulus-bill-is-a-1-9-trillion-clunker-11614102899Normally I would not post anything by a GOP, but this needs to be looked at as Mitt recently has been praised as one of the "good Guys" who got lauded for being a criticizer rump, a job most eighth graders could do, without the benefit of a government salary.
I know there is all this talk of "unity", but the truth is the GOP is NOT changing. They are like someone who got a lung transplant who will keep smoking three packs a day, because they cannot even comprehend how they were wrong. The GOP ideas are wrong, PERIOD. Romney would have been a terrible president, because he would enact the GOP lines, as Kasich would, as McCain would have. Yes, trump exposed the clown face hidden behind disguise, but we cannot forget these ideas are awful. Furthermore, if they want to reconcile, they need to admit that they were WRONG, and they can't. Just like some "funny uncle" that swears that they understood what they did was bad, lo and behold, if you leave the kid with them, something bad will happen, yet again.

(29,147 posts)Traditional Republicans like Romney, Liz Cheney, Bill Kristol, and the Lincoln Project... are still Republicans.
They may hate Trump and all that he brings to their Party, but their GOP is still the GOP of Kevin McCarthy, Devin Nunes, etc. They don't believe in science, they don't believe that humans have a right to health care, that college should be affordable to all, that corporate taxes are too low, or that wealth disparity is a bad thing.
We can't have any of them running our country.

(24,030 posts)Sounds like when Kushner said last spring "the economy will be rockin' by July."
Mitt just used more words to say it.

(24,030 posts)He says there is plenty of money in people's saving accounts to drive the economy. "Record savings" he says. He doesn't discuss the income level of people with record savings. I'm sure all the people with broken pipes in Texas will just go down to their bank and withdraw the money to fix them.
Maybe people have savings because they've had to cancel planned vacations, can't go eat in a restaurant, cancelled their Gym membership, etc. Or they are just scared they will lose their jobs.
