(54,770 posts)6. Honestly at $0.55 per first class letter, maybe it's time to reconsider if we can afford
to aim for 2 day delivery, especially when the number of such letters is rapidly declining.
I'm not talking about anything close to UPS or FEDex rates, but I'm not against a longer delivery goal and a 20, 30% hike. The goal ought to be to get USPS in the black -- even with the prefunding of pension and healthcare -- so that the Postal Service can take steps to offer new services, budget for the future, etc., without having to worry about Congress screwing them over every year.
Dejoy is a POS, but I think he's right here.
