Lieberman was from CT, and easily replaced with a dem for one. Plus he was openly hostile to dems and all but switched parties.

Manchen is a pita at times, but he almost always votes with us. He won't be the vote that tips a bill to the gop. He will always oppose when he has the cover of irrelevance one way or the other.

And, his seat would 100% flip if he wasn't running.

Be glad he is there, and not another hawley.

Joe Manchin voted for controversial Trump nominees but is undecided on Biden’s
Manchin supported more Trump nominees than any other Democrat. Now, he could sink one of Biden’s.

Lowest (for comparison)

Lowest (for comparison, and I did not list ones who only were in only for a month or so at the end of Trump, as that is a useless measure)

the part where he is the tipping point vote. Sure, if his vote is irrelevent, meaning his vote either way won't matter, he will usually side with the gop positions. But who cares?

Not every vote, but most of them, he doesn't flip a bill on his own vote. I only care how he votes when his vote is critical.

I'd much rather have him there than any gop critter, which is the alternative for that seat.

The omb nom isn't a good example since sanders is also a likely no vote. Maybe the min wage will be his breaking point but he is from a very poor state and it is a popular bill even there.. We will see.

I think what reminds me of Lieberman is the constant attention to what he's going to do, as if he ran the Senate. It's hugely irritating.

That is his DC office number (taken from: https://www.manchin.senate.gov/contact-joe/office-locations).

Let him know what you think of the recent reports about how he intends to vote on Biden's nominees, increasing the minimum wage, etc. If you are like me, tell him that you are active politically and have provided campaign assistance (contributions, phone/text banking, etc.) to out-of-state candidates like himself in the past and as long as he accepts such help from out-of-staters, he can damn sure listen to our opinion.

I just looked up Manchin's number so I could call him as a WV constituent about 15 minutes ago. Glad you beat me to it. I hope tons of people will call.

I do what I have been doing for 4 years...look up a home for sale on Zillow in his state and use the address as my own in case a staffer asks. I am OK with a non WV phone number since people move but they keep the same cell phone number so that is not proof of constituency.

We need someone that will appeal to W. Virginia voters who can still win the state. The democratic party needs to purge themselves of this weasel. His DAUGHTER is a friggin' greedy wingnut price gouger and he would rather protect her crap than take care of the country's business.

WV has lost a lot of coal jobs. It’s also a poor state. Imagine the good will if some plants manufacturing wind turbine blades or solar panels were located there. We need to take at least some of the money we give fossil fuel companies, which is in the billions, and use it as incentives for green energy. Most voters don’t vote against people who bring them prosperity. (QAnon nutjobs excepted)

Do the same in Kentucky coal country. Eastern Kentucky has always been one of the poorest areas of the country, and Trump failed to deliver on his promise of coal jobs.

I think D will have a really tough time winning statewide election in WV with today's political climate. WV has really gone more hardcore RW over the past decade. Trump won the state by 40% and Shelley Capito won her senate race by 53%. No county went democratic in 2020.
