Seattle police union president addresses controversial tweet on U.S. Capitol riot
(Snip)
Some wanted to confront Solan directly about whether he blamed Black Lives Matter protesters for the siege at the U.S. Capitol.
Much of the meeting focused on Solans retweet of blogger Andy Ngo, who posted that an extreme BLM activist was among those in the pro-Trump mob. Solan didnt back down during the Zoom call.
It's a verifiable fact that the FBI charged this individual, Solan said.
However, a widely held interpretation of that tweet is that Solan linked the BLM movement to the insurrection, and calls for his resignation mounted. The guild president said he only wanted to highlight the challenges for police.

If anyone is unfamiliar with Andy Ngo he allies with far right groups and shows up at protests & spreads misinformation. He isn't a credible source of information and no one should be using him especially the head of a police union.
