(58,785 posts)by people, including Pelosi, who could have died that day? I still wonder if they would have killed her safely inside or tried to hang her in front of the Capitol for the world to see.

I'm guessing that the ones that could have done it were not the partying ones that Sen. Ron Johnson (Whacko - Wis.) was talking about.

(36,631 posts)The capitol police did a laudable job of protecting people, especially considering the fact that they were deliberately hampered and deliberately denied help.

(9,353 posts)Both the House and Senate Sergeant at Arms were on the Floor of the House for the beginning of the Joint Session of Congress which started at 1. You can see Paul Irving Still on the Floor of the House as late as 1:15 and Michael Stenger leaves the House to bring the Senate back to their Chamber at about that time. Mr Sund said he spoke to them and they were together so that would move the timeline even further back. CSpan time stamps their video every couple of minutes.

(9,353 posts)Mr Paul Irving first appeared on the screen at 12:59 and announced the sSenate into the Chamber at 1pm. Mr Michael Stenger appears at 1pm Mr Irving is still seen on the Floor as late as 1:15, I am not sure about Mr Stenger but they were doing their duty as it relates to the counting of the electoral votes. It is possible that the Chief was calling, but also possible that he did not talk to either of the Sergeants.

(9,353 posts)Truth matters especially when it is plain for all to see.
Senator Kennedy was fond of saying Its your lie, tell it any way you want then he would say, Just dont get caught by the truth.
When you watch cspan you can make your own decision. I still think that all think they are right, but the truth is on the tape...
The chief may well have called, but it does not look like he talked to anyone until a little after his internal timeline seems to tell him.
