well, got my Moderna second jab yesterday morning at 10 AM. updated OP!

Incredible efficiency at the clinic set up in a nearby community college. Got to the parking lot at 10:02, shot in the arm at 10:08, back in my car at 10:24 - it is 12 hours post shot and my arm is just a bit tender at the injection site. Spent the day doing yard work, raking, burning brush, planting tomato seeds. Good appetite, no nausea, very pleased.

About to head for bed soon - let's see what over night, and tomorrow, brings, but I am pretty pleased to be vaccinated. Only wish my wife could join me (I'm 65, she 64 - not sure when she will be eligible for the vaccine).

Edited to add...it is Friday AM, feeling great, just slight pain at injection site. Slept well, feel absolutely typical. Very happy for this non-event experience!

My wife (a college professor) got her second Fauci ouchie - also Moderna - today.

I'm not quite 65, have no known medical problems, and am not in one of the favored occupations. Maybe I'll be able to get one in the summer.

Arm felt like I was punched by Mohammad Ali for three days, I was feverish and headachy for about 40 hours, and felt tired and ready for bed. Acetaminophen (paracetamol) helped. My doctor said to not take Ibuprofin for a week or two and only take the Tylenol if I needed it, but try to avoid it if I can. Just rest up, drink fluids, take Tylenol, and rest. It isn't so bad. Pfizer is much milder.

Somehow I managed to get an appointment online at a HyVee (grocery chain) pharmacy around noon for an appointment at 5:15. It was indoors rather than in a parking lot (parking lot events don't work well in MN in February), but it went pretty quickly and I was out of there in about 20 minutes, after they made me sit there for 15 minutes in case of an allergic reaction.

The shot was painless, no side effects so far except for a sudden urge to buy Microsoft products.

Seems like the whole effort is speeding up everywhere!

Also Pfizer. I felt nauseous for a few minutes afterwards. Since then we’ve both been fine, although she says her arm hurts a little. Second shots set for March 18th.

jab I ever got and felt fine til the afternoon and then was overcome with tiredness. Slept a couple of hours, deep sleep, got up for a few hours and back to bed for 9 hours. Today my arm is quite sore and my neck if a little stiff and I'm sort of spacey but overall, it was not the big reaction I was dreading. Two weeks and we should be at maximum antibodies. Yeah!!! From what I'm reading most people don't have a really bad reaction, just some inconvenience like mine.

I'll prepare myself in advance for "down time"... and be happy if all I feel is fatigue or nothing at all but maybe a sore arm.

No reaction at all from first shot. hardly a sore arm.. just a teeny tiny ache the next day which hardly made itself noticeable.

This time we are the opposite so I suspect I just took longer for my antibodies to react. I am very happy I got the second one and it certainly seems my body is reacting to it. You many not be sick at all. Hope not but even if you are, better a little sick than dead. LOL.

I did not sleep last night, and the arm was sore. So I was groggy today. A tylenol and some benedryl and a nap later and I am as good as new. I am glad to have this over with. Our rural county public health department has been outstanding.

Assuming she spends more time around you than anyone else in a given day, your vaccination lowers her risk of catching the virus. Sure, her chance (and yours) of contracting it is not zero; but it is certainly lower than before you had your first dose.

Time will tell regarding the follow-up.

After a few hours arm started hurting got pretty bad put 3 different cold packs on throughout day. Took some Tylenol before bed.

Today just a bit sore and feel fine.

Hubby had a weird reaction, he was a bit dizzy then felt for rest of day like he was high on a mixture of pot and codeine. I was a bit worried.

Today I read the vaccine can lower your blood pressure and I wondered if that was what he felt.

17. Getting my second Moderna 2 weeks from Monday

from Durham County Health Dept. Very efficient first time. They told me to wait 30 minutes first time because I have a history of anaphylactic response and many allergies. I had a sore arm for several days, a wild dream that night and some light headedness the next day. Took several naps.

My new next door neighbor is a 30 ish doc at Duke and he told me the second Moderna kicked his butt. So I hope having been around bugs for 30+ more years means my immune system will handle the second vax better.

and he immediately one-upped me by saying he had both his Pfizers done. I had held out for our local pharmacy, which is two blocks from my house, and that was prudent, because my pal had to drive through a blizzard to get one of his shots. HAH!

Also, you were planting tomato seeds yesterday, at the end of February? You were planing them inside for later transplant? Surely?
