Minneapolis Convention Center today. Long, fast-moving lines of oldsters like myself. Very efficient process. Very nice people. Didn't even feel the shot. They made me sit for 15 minutes to make sure I didn't keel over, then the Google lady guided me on the path back to the freeway and home.

Glad to hear this news, MM.

I'm not quite old enough, but getting there.

(14,637 posts)I turn 65 in September. Hopefully they'll bring the age down before that. There are so many people in this area who refuse to get it that perhaps things will speed up for those of us who want it.
I'm really glad you're doing ok with it. I have to admit to being somewhat terrified because of the chance of an allergic reaction. Still, when my time comes, I'll certainly get it.

(14,637 posts)We love our Medicare.
They start it on the 1st of the month when you'll turn 65. We had some shuffling to do while switching my husband from his employer's plan to Medicare, but he's saving a ton of money now. His premiums, even with the company's help, were outrageous.

(14,637 posts)We managed to do something for Valentine's Day just by buying special food and making a nice meal, which ended up being enough for 2 meals. And you can't beat Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream for dessert (Americone Dream and The Tonight Dough! YUMMY!)
It is a great idea to celebrate Medicare and vaccinations and whatever you can. I think it's time to put another special meal on the shopping list.

(12,265 posts)I got my second moderna a couple of weeks ago. Didn't feel well the next day but it only last 24 hours. I feel liberated!

(115,584 posts)at the Oakdale HyVee. I went to their web site yesterday around 1:30 (got the link from the state health department's email) and was able to get an appointment for 5:15. Pretty efficient there, too, though they could take only one person at a time. I didn't have to wait long after checking in, and afterwards had to wait for 15 minutes - they wouldn't give me my vaccine card until then to be sure I didn't leave. I was there for maybe less than 1/2 hour - it took me longer than that to drive there. Today my arm aches and I feel a bit off - tired, maybe a slight fever - and I have a sudden urge to buy Microsoft products. I can hardly feel the chip, though. In another three weeks I can go back for the second one, and by then Bill G. will already have a pretty good idea what I've been up to. Hi, Bill.
