(9,238 posts)He is a reptile all right, but not a plodding, snapping turtle. He does his 'best' work deep in the weeds.

(6,265 posts)quite the statement on GOP of racists and their hypocrisy. MM, twisting and squirming like the snake he is.

(833 posts)He calculates every move based on how it will profit him. He intends to be majority leader, again, and he will lie and degrade himself to regain that power. By this time, I think he's so deep in deceit that he doesn't even recognize deceit. Kentucky needs a Democratic candidate of heroic proportions, probably more than any other state. I thought Amy McGrath might have the goods, but the snake has his coils around too many levers of power in his state.
Or maybe Mitch could get caught in a major scandal.

(2,023 posts)someone asked him if he would fill a Supreme Court seat if there were an opening in the last year of the Trump administration, given that he had blocked Merrick Garland from even getting a hearing:
"Oh, we'd fill it!"
And so he did.

And I didn't know until today, a little while ago, when I looked it up, that she won the Pulitzer Prize..

(2,992 posts)Snakes are beautiful, graceful, surprisingly sophisticated creatures. Their sneakiness is akin to the stealthiness of a cat, not the duplicitousness of a scam artist.
Snakes are very far above McConnell.

(2,992 posts)...snakes aren't poisonous. Some of them are venomous. (Poisonous = having poison in or on the tissues, e.g. poisonous frogs, toadstools, etc; venomous = being able to deliver venom to a victim, e.g. venomous snake, spider, stingray, etc.)
And I still strongly dislike the comparison.
