(29,199 posts)we hope they tell the truth and report the facts.
The "Left" is, by and large, a fact based political party

(58,785 posts)Those who believe honest journalists are those who say what they want to hear and that the truth IS always going to support whatever they want to believe, are being willfully stupid, though. Nothing new about that in any group.
Those who fear the facts will forever try to discredit the fact-finders.

(7,596 posts)Theyre not supposed to side with a political party. They only seems to ally with the left because the right stands for nothing but deranged conspiracy theories these days.

(101,311 posts)Basically, what Dowd said, and Haberman apparently agrees, is that it's a reporter's job to find old quotes a nominee (Tanden) said about a swing senator (Murkowski) and give them to her to see if it will affect the way she votes.
If a reporter did that to write an article, I'd agree it's part of their job. But doing it by taking it straight to the senator? That's not so clear. So I think Dowd's and Haberman's assertion that that "is" their job is dubious. It looks more like an attempt to stir things up than to give readers the facts. They certainly shouldn't be getting on their high horses about how "many on the left dont understand what a reporter is".

(9,822 posts)Bernie Sanders is kind of in that direction, but Bidens an Eisenhower Democrat. The Left is a term used by lazy or ignorant people to differentiate from fascist Republicans.
