First, there is no peer-reviewed paper or double-blind study here.

Second, there is no plausible explanation of the mechanism involved. A "huge boost of immunity"? Is the implication that the patient is still infected? If so, why wouldn't there be a huge boost of immunity from the virus itself? If not, why would the immune system even be a factor? I would expect therapeutics would have a better chance of success than vaccines in these cases.

The article dodges the tough questions because they don't know the answers. We are in a reverse news cycle where positive news sells better than negative news, so these types of stories are being hurried to the presses.
