Worked for me. I had to keep refreshing page for about an hour. These are appointments at pharmacies, 15 min apart.
In less than 24 hrs, 1st Pfizer was in my arm.
Note: of course, you need to qualify for the vaccine stage in your state.
Good luck!

(31,384 posts)Although I have already had my first shot at my local county Department of Public Health, I tried out the website and it came up with quite a few pharmacies that had stock within 50 miles of my zip code location.
This could be helpful for people who are trying to locate pharmacies with vaccine.
And using this page will walk you through the process to find out if you are eligible in your state:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/recommendations.html
Hoping everyone finds a vax soon!
My arm is a bit tender, but much better than a ventilator, long-haul, or living in terror!

(13,893 posts)So far a big zero. One gent on this forum who is in my county got his "jab" from the Health Dept last week. Maybe I'll hit pay dirt as I signed up about two weeks after him..
Fingers crossed. ;^)

(65,000 posts)3 Walgreen's & 2 CVS stores show appointments available.
When I go to CVS or Walgreen's website, they both say no appointments for at least 3 days.
I bookmarked the page, though.
I'll try again in a couple days.

(65,000 posts)But, when I go to those store sites it says "No appointments available for 3 days."
So, that site you found is great but seems to lag behind the actual availability in the areas in question. At least for northeast Illinois.
Orleans lives in a county that touches the one I live in. DuPage is the next county north.
2nd & 4th most populous counties in the state and they're both lagging.

(57,073 posts)I used to live in Kane.
I kept refreshing site. Seems doses appeared before appointments & doses were generally listed in batches of 20.
I hope this helps you & everyone to find a vaccine!

I got my appointment late on a Saturday night. They must have just opened up for 65+ yr. olds, and I was ready to hit the "confirm appt." button. Also get yourself familiar with what information you'll need to supply, have everything ready, and supply as much info as possible so that you just need to confirm. When I was searching I had several spots fill up as I was submitting info.
SheltieLover
(57,073 posts)I had to try numerous times when appts popped up. Some were already taken.

(11,592 posts)People from all over the state (even Chicago) have been traveling to Springfield to get the vaccine. There seems to be enough vaccine but no appointments available. I'll keep checking. I have an account at Walgreens for prescriptions so that's where I, along with my husband, will probably end up getting it.
SheltieLover

(11,592 posts)I started looking for vaccines in earnest when Illinois recently expanded Phase 1b to include those 16 to 64 with comorbidities. The Walgreens I go to has run out of Moderna but still has Pfizer with no appointments available. Their website said to check back in 3 days. I've also spoken to the Department of Public Health and they said to be patient and keep trying. A spot might open up if there's a cancelation. I'm also looking for my husband. I'll give an update when I make progress.

(377 posts)Only one pharmacy showed up. There are 3 pharmacies, the hospital and the health department. None showed up on the list.
Also, the miles option only goes to 50 miles. For those living in the western states, that is not enough. We drive 70 miles to go to Costco.

(13,225 posts)I hope this works for other people, but it is sadly not current here in western PA. I think it is a factor of the pharmacies and other providers not keeping their info up to date.

(57,073 posts)This is a very recent CDC redo of their previous flu shot locator, so I am guessing it will improve as more providers sign up & as more doses become available.
I sat & kept refreshing page for about an hour before being able to jump on an appointment. Worked for me - had 1st pfizer in my arm in less than 24 hours.
I hope you are able to find one soon!
