Question about changing direct deposit info for next stimulus

I got my first stimulus by direct deposit. But I closed that account and the second stimulus had to be mailed. I don’t want to be mailed the probable third stimulus. But none of the free online tax sites I have been to have a place for direct deposit if you don’t have any income or credits/rebates. I don’t want to count on the IRS to open up Get My Payment to changes. So does anyone have ideas for me?

I deposited that into my TD Bank account. But the IRS has the old Citizens Bank info.

They might in the future with the Democrats in charge, but that is not a given. I tried to file taxes but ran into the roadblock described.

Unless you file a tax return with a refund due and provide your new banking information, you're SOL. You're just going to have to wait for the check. Sorry, but there are just too many thrives out there.

You can get your transcript or PIN number that way. I have always thought that. Anyway, I haven’t seen any tax sites that allow it for my situation.

So when I did my taxes for 2020, I got the 600 bucks deducted from total owed. Felt awesome. I may have to wait til 2022 to do my 2021 taxes to get the 1400 (if we truly get it) deducted. I’m cool with how ever the Government deems me getting it. One way or the other, you’ll get it. That you should never worry about.

you are simply simply out of luck. You may just have to get a mailed check.

This makes me feel fortunate that my life has been such that I've had the same checking account for 13 years now, and I have the joy of filing a return every year. So the IRS has my bank account, and I got the first two stimulus checks in the very first round of them. Lucky me.

I work in the financial sector. We won’t receive information until everything is finalized. Since I don’t know the specifics of the bill, I can’t definitively say.
