republicans started lying decades ago. they found, attracted and nurtured those who would accept lies at truth.
they found a large group in christian churches and among the rural.

they have used racism and disaffection as an attractor and to strengthen their hold.

the real issue is they groomed their party to accept lies as truth, and we are at the logical result.

Republicans screamed the Democrats just painted a six to distract them from noticing they were breaking into the Watergate Hotel. IOW, Republicans having been lying psychopaths all along. Their distractions have merely grown in proportion to their crimes.

6. Socially conservative groups of people have always had a tenuous relationship with the truth.

Trump has radicalized them. Everyday they are denying more and more common facts and norms. They are far less likely now to even try to provide documented, third party verified, evidence for their ideas.
