I saw it at Christmas time. Two Christmas cards I sent to people who have lived in their homes for more than a decade, didn't receive their cards on time. One came back claiming that there was no such address and the time had lapsed for a forwarding.
Guess what? There was nothing wrong with the address. I put the Christmas card in a 5x7 manila folder and wrote down the same address. It reached its destination the second time. The Post Office owes me a Forever Stamp.
How many people are not receiving important letters, because of De Joy?
The second card was returned because the Post Office delivery had lost their personal touch. This was an address in Alabama. The recipient lives off a main road. His street is short and only has two homesteads. The extended family owns both of them. The house in the front had the address name of the main street. The house in the back had the name of the side street. The letters always came to the recipient, no matter where they were addressed. It would have been a simple thing to "forward" it next door for any post delivery man. Yet, it was returned.
De Joy is destroying the efficiency of delivery. He is intentionally driving the US Post Office into the ground. All the problems can be blamed on one man's leadership. So why is he still there?

(46,700 posts)That's political. Incompetence, however, transcends politics.
It's a business requirement that people at the helm of their departments act in a competent way.

(46,700 posts)I just think that DeJoy's mishandling of the Post Office is so blatantly bad by any business expectation, that this should be easier to do.

(53,764 posts)now gives Dem appointees the majority. DeJoy won't be there for long. Ya gotta know how to work it, and Joe knows as he's been in government for decades. Give him time to get everything in place.

(3,433 posts)Biden just fixed that by appointing 3 new people to unpack it. Not sure how long it takes to take their first vote.

And since it is something DeJoy has always wanted to do anyway, it is a win-win for all the bastards who hate the federal government. Please recognize the source of his behavior.

(2,590 posts)the USPS and more should be alarmed. If I recall correctly from this site, the USPS was written into the Constitution. It is IMO a great equalizer and helps hold the fabric of our society together. These reThugs are still using the old playbook to get rid of any government institution that works - drown it, i.e starve it - whether it be the Post Office rules on their pension fund, SS or Medicare.
