Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler lead worst-dressed stars - as A-listers show off fashion fails

Nothing funny about those outfits! Comedians Maya Rudolph and Amy Poehler lead worst-dressed stars at semi-virtual Golden Globes - as A-listers show off fashion fails from home and the red carpet

This year's Golden Globes looked very different in light of the ongoing pandemic - but one thing remained constant at the awards ceremony: the plethora of fashion fails being flaunted by celebrities, both on the red carpet and at home throughout the semi-virtual event.

Returning hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey led the sub-par style at this year's ceremony, with both women putting on a very dreary show in lackluster black ensembles that did little to flatter their figures, and appeared entirely effortless for all the wrong reasons.

Amy, 49, wore a glittering black turtleneck dress with thick opaque tights that made it look more like she was getting ready for a night out at a trashy club rather than an evening at one of Hollywood's most prestigious events. Meanwhile her co-host and best friend Tina, 50, seemed to have dressed to match her pal, wearing a tuxedo-style mini dress - which she chose to pair with some rather tacky fishnet-esque tights.

Which is fine, I'm all for wearing whatever makes you feel good; plus, pushing boundaries is usually healthy. OTHO, high-fashion has always made people, especially women, look ridiculous. Why stop now.

Were they purposefully trying to pick schleppy outfits as a statement? If so, I didn’t get it.

Jane Fonda looked fabulous in her simple white pant suit.
As for the nominees who spent all day donning couture fashions for Zoom head shots that were barely visible ... why bother?

with the press. They usually pick out one or two that are not great but not terrible and the rest are relentlessly taken apart. I do not understand it. Who cares? These are entertainers and they are entertaining. I loved Cynthia Erivo's dress. Her shoes not so much, looked too easy to fall off of but the look was really cool. Yes, some of them were not great but if they felt great then that is all that matters. They could care less what these people write about them. You cannot do that kind of thing and care about that. I really wish they would quit judging all women by their looks.

Anyone going after Daniel Levy in his yellow suit? He pulled that off well. I really like the guy and thought he was looking sharp and happy.

I do have to say the two hosts had outfits that I often was distracted by when they were telling jokes
I didn’t think of it at the time as bad as much as some odd choices but that was their choice and as you said I doubt they care what was said after since they just hosted the GG
