"SNIP.....
A new Civiqs poll finds that Americans of all ages, education levels, genders, races and political parties say theyre more likely than not to get the coronavirus vaccine except Republicans.
.....SNIP"
Didn't Trump in his speech at CPAC ask that people get vaccinated? Suddenly he is for science when it is his base at risk.

(1,495 posts)If these freaks don't want to get vaccinated and want to keep insisting "It's just a cold" and "It has a 99.8% survival rate," I'm all for it. My family member, who died of Covid two weeks ago, would disagree that it was just a cold.

(25,224 posts)We need to stop calling it Covid-19 and the China Virus and start calling it the Republican Virus.

(10,749 posts)BTW, schools must (must, must, must) make all vaccines absolutely required, including the Covid vaccine when it gets down to kid level. No vaccine, no school.
(This has probably made its way to the courts, but I'm too lazy to check.)
So, no covid vaccine, no school attendance.
On the plus side, Darwin at work.
On the down side, potential grounds for even more radicalization on the right, cause you can be 110% sure that home-schooled civic lessons will not resemble anything along the lines of what might be termed accurate civics lessons.

(10,749 posts)That theres no realistic way to track COVID deaths by political affiliation. Now and into the future.
If I remember correctly, and keep in mind this was a very long time ago, we couldn't attend school if we didn't have the polio vaccinations. But that was before our country became so litigious.

(3,377 posts)They will all get it. I have people at work who refused it bc it is their right. I reminded them that they have to get their annual TB test in order to work there. And the resulting look of shock on their faces always shocks me. They know its coming.

(9,109 posts)Theyll be asked to show proof of vaccination, theyll start bloviating about Amurrica and freedom, then theyll get reminded that the ship is Panamanian-flagged or Bahamian-flagged, and that the cruise line has the discretion NOT to let them board.
Then they can remain dockside and watch as the cruise ship sets sailwithout them.
FlyingPiggy
(3,377 posts)Give up a convenience or their beloved cruises. Theyll whine and whine on their way to get the vaccine so they can get on the ship early.
Vogon_Glory
(9,109 posts)I understand that it takes the vaccine at least a couple of weeks to kick in to be effective. And if I know that, Im sure the cruise lines know that too. I suspect that your happy scenario wont play out. Unless the bellowing Bull Trumpies had had the rare good sense to brave the needles and vaccinated at least a couple of weeks in advance, they wont be allowed to take ship.
FlyingPiggy
(3,377 posts)My point is, they will whine the whole time, but they will do what it takes to make it happen bc they are mot giving up on their cruises.
