GOP projects their bullshit onto Biden

GOP says Ron Klain pulling Biden strings

Republicans are attacking White House chief of staff Ron Klain as "the guy behind the curtain" and "Prime Minister Klain" as they try to push back on someone they see as formidable opponent in the battle over President Biden's agenda.

The GOP blames Klain for Biden's refusal to negotiate the price down on his $1.9 trillion COVID-19 relief package, an approach they say conflicts with Biden's campaign pledges.

"We've gotten the impression from our members that have been in meetings down there that he's kind of the guy behind the curtain," said Senate Republican Whip John Thune (S.D.).

Aides to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) have taken to describing the White House chief of staff as "Prime Minister Klain," an effort aimed at hurting Biden.

about Biden being out to lunch. Some thing just a more (they think) dignified Senatorial flavor.

More GOP projection. During Trump's presidency it was pretty common to go after Trump by suggesting that he wasn't really in charge -- that in fact the country was being run one of his advisers or cabinet members.

But the point of that strategy was to get in Trump's head and make him paranoid about the adviser's popularity. Inevitably, he would get all pissy with the person who was being applauded -- because nobody should get better press than Dear Leader -- and often they'd end up getting fired, because his lizard brain saw them as a threat.

These Republicans appear to be trying to do the same to Biden, but they don't seem to understand why it worked against Trump. It worked because he was a thin-skinned narcissist who couldn't handle it when someone else was in the limelight. That's not how Biden operates.

I guess the only other explanation is that they're trying to continue to flog the lie that Biden is senile and other people are doing the work for him, but that propaganda seems to have gone nowhere -- most people rejected the notion before the election.
