I heard that President Biden said he'd leave it up to his security advisors and I've not heard anything since. After seeing bits of his latest loony display on Sunday I wouldn't want him being told how to find the key to the front door under the mat....

He *may* get them if/when he travels someplace where a security briefing would be helpful to him or the country (don't go to East Buttfuck because there are militants there who hate your ass and have shown the ability to set off pipe bombs in unfortunate places).

(16,926 posts)You know his 'Buds' in East Buttfuck would welcome him and the pipe bombs would be used to line the roads with fireworks displays welcoming him!
Now were he to go to West Buttfuck - that could be a different story.......

(1,301 posts)I honestly dont see any reason for former presidents to keep getting security briefings, unless they are acting as advisors to the current president.
Feel free to enlighten me...

(65 posts)Former Presidents may receive, out of courtesy, a briefing on some intelligence. It is not a blanket "anything" included. It is always need to know. With the "last guy" he doesn't meed to know anything.

(1,896 posts)In fact, they ought to give him some disinformation briefings and see where it comes out. Tell him some bullshit and make him think it's top secret stuff. Next thing you know, dollars to doughnuts, Putin or the Saudis will be thinking they got some kind of scoop.
