(4,533 posts)And one day the father mentioned to his son something about his friend Dolly Parton. The son said Dolly Parton isnt your friend! It seemed completely impossible. The father is an extremely square medical scientist, how could Dolly possibly be his friend? But Dolly was there with some medical event requiring treatment and learned in talking that Dr Abumrad had grown up in a tiny house off the grid in Lebanon that sounded just like the tiny house Dolly had grown up in. In talking she learned that his background was very similar to hers and they bonded over that and became friends. Later she contributed a million dollars to the human trial for the Moderna vaccine conducted at Vanderbilt under his supervision. Since I just got my second Moderna vaccination, thank you Dolly!

(6,791 posts)Yes, I immediately thought, "Oh, it must be an intra-muscular, administered in the deltoid!" (So many are, anyway, it was no surprise.)
Dolly figured it out and is showing us the way.

(2,260 posts)Not a country music fan by any stretch of the imagination but who can resist Ms Parton? She's a wonderful human and gives me just a little hope for the rest of humanity. You go Dolly!

(509 posts)I didnt have as strong a reaction to it as I did the first one, when I had a lot of fatigue. This time its been a bit of joint pain, sore arm, slight headache, a little fatigue. DH has had a low fever and fatigue. But were both grateful to have had the shots and look forward to March 15 when well have had time for immunity to kick in.

(11,088 posts)How does she possibly look so young? There is no amount of plastic surgery that can erase that many years.

(11,612 posts)Seems like if you donate a million dollars to the research you'd be further up the list but I guess that would be inappropriate.
