...sat in a movie theater and watched a movie.
...went to the gym
...rode the subway
...sat in a restaurant and ate a meal
...flew in an airplane (actually 2 years for this one)
...took a real vacation
What haven't you done in the past year since the start of the covid outbreak.

(24,253 posts)We have done some outdoor dining. I do miss seeing my greatgrandchildren, although now that we are vaccinated we'll be doing that in a few weeks. Biggest let down was celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary with a quiet dinner for two, although that wasn't all that bad, either. Having a wonderful wife and a couple of great dogs has helped a lot.
Can't say on the board.

(24,321 posts)Had the time of my life with my Special. Caught 2 weekend Red Sox Spring Training games....hot sun, Sam Adam's and Boston bands playing 3 hours before game time. Then there was the beach and the outside bar where I got to know all of the crew on a 1st name basis. Started reading stories about COVID when I read DU - daily - and heard about a couple of local deaths....returned to Boston on 3/7, returned to my home in Central Maine, alone, and, a year later, am eagerly awaiting the return to some state of normalcy.

(9,146 posts)And that was to get the first vaccine shot. In fact, it was the first time since last March 4th I had been inside ANYWHERE other than my home that wasnt a doctors office or hospital.

(987 posts)..... taught a yoga class
..... cut or colored my hair - think I like it in its more natural state
.... attended in person worship service
..... played my clarinet with the community band
.... met with my knitting group around my kitchen table (we meet via zoom. It OK, not great)
..... had dinner guests
.... seen my siblings
.... eaten in a restaurant
.... attended HS sporting events and concerts. Gotta support the neighborhood kids 😄
.... had a facial or a massage
Thankfully I have seen my out of state kids and the grandchildren. Yes we all took a risk but the new momma needed her momma (me) and the other kid was in desperate need of childcare for ca. about a month. Otherwise I could add not seeing my children, grandchildren, or hugged anyone.
It has been a long year. But I think normal activities are slowly coming back.

(25,816 posts)She works from home, and to be honest, her being here all day every day gives me zero
time alone. But I have land, a wood shop and a band room, so I have plenty of space.
I used to play music with my friends twice a week, but not for nearly a year. That and going
out to eat are what I miss most. (And Jeannie returning to work)
My daughter drove out for my 70th birthday to show me my first grandchild. It was one of only two times
that I had people in the house. We all sat together in my living room and I realized that it was the
first time with no masks and everything felt normal. I miss that feeling.

(12,051 posts)I really missed my 3 weeks in Florida with my BFF. She's 80, and frankly I may never see her again if this shit keeps up. But I have my first Pfizer shot and she's had both shots, so we may try to get together this summer.
What else do I miss?
Camping trips
Swim aerobics classes and the gym in general
Massages!
Volunteering with my main volunteer group -- all canceled
Taking "The Kid" (grandson) places for fun and enrichment

(3,377 posts)I did get a haircut. But I wore a mask and so did my hairdresser. She has a little closed in room at a Sola Salon that I find much safer than an open room concept. If she didnt have her setup as she does, I wouldnt have gotten my haircut. I dont miss eating out in a restaurant Bc we, on occasion, eat outside on the patio. Most of the time, we just take it to go and eat inside the car. I miss our usual vacations. But I cant say I didnt enjoy our foray into camping. It opened up my world into something we dont ever do. And we really enjoyed it! I spent a fortune on all the camping gear so I plan on continuing our camping adventures until we hit a dozen more national parks.

(38,304 posts)We haven't had a real vacation or even a long weekend away for a little over a year.
I hate this.
I want to visit my parents. They live in a tropical paradise. I can't visit them without a two week quarantine. Which is impossible to arrange.
My wife has been vaccinated as a front line health care worker, my mom has been vaccinated as a high risk elderly person, but I haven't been vaccinated and neither has my dad, even though he is a high risk elderly person just like my mom but lower down on the vaccine priority lists.

(14,811 posts)I had made a decision last year to go out & see as many live shows as I could. In January I got to see The Marcus King Band at a small venue in St. Louis. Then two weeks later I got to see Mike Zito doing a tribute to Chuck Berry, with Walter Trout, Robben Ford, Eric Gales, Richard Fortus & Charlie Berry III at another small venue. It's also the last time I smoked a joint with other people.

(14,549 posts)Last March we had four tickets to see the Fontaines, D.C. in Hollywood.
It was going to be a big event...dinner at a nice Restaurant, stay in a nice
Hotel and the show.
That didn't happen. Canceled, but the venue did refund the money for the tickets.
I keep searching for shows this coming November or December...hoping for the best.
