Thank God I am 55 so I make the cut with Romney's death date for SSI and Medicare...

Seriously, vouchers are not worth the paper they are written on.

Where would we be if we depended on the free market...

1. The cutoff date was 1955 not 55 years old.....

The plan was established in 2010 and applied to people 55 then(who were born in 1955).

That's what Ryan said originally

3. My mom turned 54 last week

she just barely misses the cut, and I'll be damned if I let a Rmoney/Lyin' Ryan administration throw her under the bus.

10. The cut off means nothing-all they do is change the rules right under your feet

They WILL crash both age groups.

5. I'd like to sign on for one of those death panels. There's a few republicans I'd like to

help meet their maker-Ronald Reagan.

They are heartless elitists.

15. Why on earth do you think they'd stop at 55?

Sure, the story now is that 55+ is covered.

Why would you think the Republicans would stick to that after they'd screwed 54 and under?

I have health care and retirement, but I saw how well my father was treated with Medicare when he died. I don't want no stinkin' voucher!

20. I am only a handful of years younger... will need to save

about 10K a year (beyond living expenses, and beyond regular savings/investments) to have the money to pay the difference.

Why is that not part of the discussion? How much annually people need to have set aside/invested annually who are 50, who are 45, who are 40, who are 35 etc. How many people can find an extra net savings of 10K a year?

21. I am not sure about that. I am 56 and I would get a voucher.

That is what the plan summary I read says.

22. I am also on Medicare now because of disability....

I would never have thought to go on the dole, as my Irish Grandfather would say.

It took my doctor to convince me that I was not going to get better before I applied for Disability.

Sure, I have gotten more than I put in, but both my mom and dad paid a lot more in than they ever received.
