Is anyone else sick of hearing that we cant afford COVID relief from the exact same people who passed a $1,900,000,000,000 tax cut for corporations and the super-rich?

(53,743 posts)Why that number sounds familiar. Isn't the covid relief bill for 1.9 trillion we're about to pass for rest of us?
Funny how that works.

(2,868 posts)Utilizing reconciliation. It wasn't bipartisan. Speaker Ryan and the Congressional Repubs promised it would pay for itself and NOT increase the federal deficit and debt, that it would raise worker's wages, that it would create jobs, and expand the economy.
IT DID EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE OF ALL THOSE PROMISES.
The other huge difference was that the American people were overwhelmingly against the tax cuts package when it was proposed, when it passed, and to this day. The Covid Relief package is approved by 76% of the country and they want it passed.
