(102,138 posts)until 2/3 through the flight after the man finally spotted the cat. Hard to know what was going on, but those reactions certainly don't "track" with what was going on.

(102,138 posts)likewise picking up on is that she seemed oblivious to the situation. You don't even see the guy seemingly saying anything to her to warn her to remain quiet.
Just an unusual response, that is all. For the cat's sake, I am sure her obliviousness was probably a life-saver since she didn't even seem to respond once on the ground.

(3,537 posts)I was on the edge of my seat the whole time yelling land, land, land the darn thing. So happy to see the kitty safe on the ground.

(3,191 posts)They knew to wrap their paws around the bar and hung on. Must have been scared as hell.

(7,275 posts)The cat is doing well, she is still our mascot.
Edit :
Ok some details :
- the cat was INSIDE the wing, not on it. she was actually pretty safe in there, the danger was if she wanted to get down to reach us..
- i was the pilote, the woman was on her first flight as a passenger. she smile and giggle a lot, well because that's what flying does to people sometime.
-i told her not to reach for the cat. i told her not to move at all actually. i trusted the cat to not move if we didn't try to reach for her.
-you can see me smile shortly before landing. I was pretty assured by then that the cat wouldn't move and there was a relieve of tension; and the radio exchange with the control tower was kinda hilarious, i couldn't contain a smile.
-cat is a female.
-the flight was normally 20minutes long

(102,138 posts)the fact the woman didn't even acknowledge its presence was strange.

(102,138 posts)Up thread I mentioned her strange inattention until about 2/3 through the video and then only scarcely glancing at it. That is strange. But given her unusual and seeming unpredictable reaction, I just glad the cat
made it back to the ground ok. She obviously wasn't a "cat" person, given she didn't even seem relieved when he jumped down after landing.

(18,748 posts)until I saw that she'd been told to not move at all. That would have paralyzed me; I'd worry that even moving my head a little might startle the cat & cause kitty to fall off. I'd wonder how I'd gotten into this situation. 😂

I'm glad he made it down safely.

(21,346 posts)as it recognized that they were getting close to the ground again? Looked to me like the cat was relieved to see it. "Ah, good. Solid ground again."

(8,445 posts)As the "mom" of four cats, I feel qualified to say that some aren't particularly bright.
Case in point: One of mine spent the night outside last night because she hasn't been able to figure out the cat door into the garage, from which they can then get into the house. They have another cat door in the back door of the house, but I make it exit only when I go to bed because last year a raccoon figured out how to get in through that door.
The cat door system has been in place for many months. Every night I have to wait until that silly cat is in for the night before I adjust that cat door. Last night she snuck out after I went to bed.

Bet the wings were checked for cute little stowaways after that.
