Got my first COVID shot (Pfizer) today

Compliments of Walgreens at no charge. No side effects to speak of at this point. What I do not understand is why they ran my health insurance card through the system when it's supposed to be free. Anyway, thank you, Joe!

But private health insurers can be asked to reimburse vaccination providers for administrative costs.

However, no one should be refused for *not* providing their health insurance information.

(I'm in CA, and Kaiser sent customers this information and explained why we should provide our health care card so vaccine administrators can be reimbursed for these costs.)

ETA: Congratulations on getting your shot! I'm happy to hear when people get it, because I feel a step closer to my own chance and to us beating covid.

Are you signed up for V Safe, the CDC's post-vaccine symptom tracker? Requires a smart phone & only takes a few seconds to complete brief survey daily.

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/vsafe.html

They ran my insurance, too, whem I got my 1st vax as well. And I asked why my receipt said flu/pneumonia vaccine. Tech said that is how they have to bill it because covid vaccines are not fully approved.

yesterday — no issues. My 83-year-old mom got her 2nd Pfizer shot last week, also no issues.

You’re halfway! Great news.

I read Medicare will pay for us older folks, but didn't have to show my card, so not sure.

This afternoon, I went to a bar, had a couple of beers and shot a dozen racks of 8-ball. I'm almost in tears sitting here thinking about the significance of something I used to do without a thought. A little over a year ago, I got some cash from an ATM for my weekly pool league night but then decided to go into hiding. At the bar today, I realized I still had that same cash in my wallet because I haven't been anywhere to spend it.

Edit: I just learned that tomorrow I'll get to hug my two-year-old granddaughter for the first time since she was one. I don't think I'll be "almost" in tears after that.

17. Walgreens has been nailed twice

by the Feds for selling customer's prescription information and other private personal info. Hepa be damned!

TWICE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course the fine, in both cases, was a hand slap compared to the amount of money Walgreens made off it, and the amount the CEO earned in bonuses.....

In fact the fine was so petty on the first offense, the CEO just kept right on breaking the law.

When nailed the second time, it was reported that he said the amount of money Walgreens were fined was petty compared to what they made off selling the info, and in fact, Walgreens was able to write the fine off on their taxes, basically a cost of doing business.

Of course, the CEO, and other higher up executives, were not punished in any way.

The dictionary defines fascism as a joining of government with corporations. We are fighting tooth and nail to prevent the Trump/RepubliCons from installing a Corporate Fascist Tyranny........ They have been working towards this end for over forty years, and are within one millimeter from pulling it off. They were so malicious and corrupt they literally had their minions try to tear down the capitol, kill deserters, and go for a complete coup. There is NOTHING these quasi phony RepubliCONS won't do. NOTHING. They are so deeply entrenched in every facet of our country it is mind blowing.
