Real-world data shows Pfizer's Covid vaccine is giving 'very strong' results after one dose

https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2021/03/02/coronavirus-uk-charts-show-how-pfizers-vaccine-is-working.html

LONDON — New data from England has revealed how effective coronavirus vaccines are at fighting the disease, even after just one dose.

In December, the vaccine developed by Pfizer and BioNTech became the first shot to be approved and rolled out in the U.K.

Since the study started in January, protection against symptomatic Covid, four weeks after the first dose, ranged between 57% and 61% for the Pfizer vaccine and between 60% and 73% for the AstraZeneca inoculation.

"They may also help to explain why the number of Covid admissions to intensive care units among people over 80 in the U.K. have dropped to single figures in the last couple of weeks," he said.

Note: this is not yet peer reviewed, but encouraging, regardless!

...and the second dose greatly increases the antibodies so that you won't catch the virus a year or two from now.

Fewer than half of those 65 to 75

80% of covid deaths are among those 65 or older. Ask senior citizens if they have been vaccinated and help those not vaccinated if you can.

We can get deaths below 200 per day if we vaccinate almost everyone over 65, and at that level we can we can open up the economy.

Getting my 2nd Pfizer shot in a few hours and between that and my O blood type I should be in pretty good shape.

I just want to back closer to normal and the Governors of Texas and Mississippi aren’t helping, that’s for sure.

This article makes me feel better about having Pfizer. My family members have all received Moderna and had some problems with headaches and being really tired.

I was tired, but that could have been due to staying up way too late.

Being an octogenarian, I am REALLY glad.
