Trump advisors are telling him to drop Pence for a Black or female VP in a potential 2024 run, report
acollman@businessinsider.com (Ashley Collman) 16 mins ago
Bloomberg reported that Trump is seriously considering running for the White House again in 2024.
Its sources said that advisors are pushing Trump to drop Pence as his running mate, if he runs.
They reportedly want him to go with a Black or female VP pick, like South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem.
Former President Donald Trump is seriously considering running for the White House again in 2024, and advisors are pushing him to drop former Vice President Mike Pence as his running mate if he does so, Bloomberg reported.
Three sources told Bloomberg that Pence likely won't be on the ticket should Trump run again.
Close advisors want him to go with a Black or female vice presidential pick, sources familiar with the discussions told Bloomberg. Two advisors singled out South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, an ardent Trump defender, per Bloomberg.
A person familiar with the matter told Bloomberg that they doubt Pence would run with Trump again, but that Pence hasn't specified whether he's interested or not. Trump teased a 2024 run at last week's Conservative Political Action Conference.

(490 posts)Unless we're lapsing back to the notion that black people vote primarily on ethnicity and that women will run squealing to the polls for a VP who is of the same sex as them, just as they did when Ferraro and Palin were on their respective tickets.

(21,402 posts)Maybe we can help his super pac raise a lot of money? We had better start focusing on passing the Rescue package before it gets watered down any more and focused on passing the fair election bill in the Senate or Democrats will not control the House for the next 10 years.
Fuck Trump, why are we talking about him. How about we just talk about Trump's possible indictments if we feel the need to publicize him?

(60,536 posts)...are you doing about the rescue package and/or passing the fair election bill in the Senate? Has any DU member stopped you from discussing Trump's possible indictments?

(21,402 posts)pushed that he is running for president in 2024. He is setting up a super pac where all of the money goes to him. He wants people to believe that he is running for president to make money to pay for his upcoming legal fees. We are so far down that rabbit hole that we are discussing who his VP will be.
Trump is a Narcissist and he needs constant publicity, constant attention. The worst thing for a Narcissist is to be ignored.
Much more concerning to me is what is happening in Republican controlled states like mine, Pa. My Rep. Glenn Thompson, drinks oil and breathes methane. He is pathetic, I vote against him every 2 years, but he has zero chance of being defeated because of gerrymandering. Republican controlled states are passing hundreds of laws to restrict voting, and once those states get finished gerrymandering some more, Democrats will lose control of the House for the next 10 years and possibly beyond. Just the gerrymandering that Florida is planning will flip 3 seats from D to R.
When the fair election bill that the House is passing reaches the Senate I will call Senator Toomey and demand that he vote yes for the bill. I don't see him voting yes but I will try. There may well be Democratic Senators who vote no.
Democrats need to stick together and make hay in these next 2 years.

Going to Noem would split off the Evangelicals plus... There are many men (and women) among the Y'all Queda WHO.WILL.NEVER.VOTE.FOR.A.WOMAN. Ever.
As an anecdotal story, I personally know several GrOPpers who moved because their only choices for an office holder on the ballot were both female.
