An Orange County Sheriff’s Department special officer is under local and federal investigation in connection with the Jan. 6 riot at the nation’s Capitol.

Monica Alston, who posted on social media photos of herself outside the Capitol as well as a video taken inside the building, was placed on paid leave Jan. 21 by the department pending an internal investigation. According to the Transparent California public pay website, Alston earned $114,991 in total compensation in 2019.

Meanwhile, the FBI last month searched her Irvine home, one of dozens of raids conducted in the aftermath of the attack on the nation’s citadel, according to published accounts.

A special officer is not a full deputy and does not retain their police powers when off duty.

Alston is the latest Orange County sheriff’s employee investigated for potential right-wing activity. Late last year, a 13-year deputy was investigated for wearing an Oathkeeper patch on his uniform as well as the logo of the “Three Percenters.”...........................................

There must have been a new directive in the style book lately. Pretty soon, it will be "protest."

I think not! Trust me, nothing festive Senator Johnson. Chants of hang mike pence, Nancy where are you and get the suits was an armed insurrection not a festive event. Bless their little hearts though, they are changing the narrative.
