He thinks it's great to read the bill. He said Democrats want the American public to know what's in the bill. This is just one more way to get through to the public.

And now that we canceled ALL* of his reading material, he has nothing else to read.


*actually, only 6 racist Doctors Suess books. But they were his favorites. He Takes a month to read each one, two hours per night

The clerk reads the bills, unless there is a vote to waive the reading. Usually the reading is waived. The GQP Senators are simply using the reading to delay the vote.

Of course, none of the Senators will read the bills themselves. They don't do that. They may have staffers read the bills and point out issues they discover. But Senators don't read large bills themselves. They're "too busy for that."

Obstruction is their goal - always.

The official Rules of the Senate are really unknown to just about everyone, including most Senators but they are quite precise.
