(10,102 posts)Just because Biden has AF1 at his disposal, which is a perk of being President and of course he's entitled to it, doesn't answer the question about whether he should be setting an example to Americans who don't have that luxury.

(47,750 posts)he is President 24/7. There are no real breaks for a president. If he serves two terms, that is 8 years of living in a fish bowl, always on call. As nice as the White House may be, no one wants to be there every day.

I was on a zoom meeting with a guy who has been to CO and MO since August and is leaving next week for a vacation in FL.
A niece has been in three states in the last month following her daughters volleyball competition.
The only people I know who have cancelled travel plans are for international travel.
If planes are flying and gas stations are open and hotels take reservations then people will travel.

(34,127 posts)I have personally canceled 5 interstate trips, and 2 trips of more than 100 miles instate.
I also skipped getting a second opinion for treatment of the rare cancer I was diagnosed with in December because getting a second opinion would have required traveling to Texas, Minnesota, or Massachusetts.
I don't think I'm that extraordinary.
