Just because Biden has AF1 at his disposal, which is a perk of being President and of course he's entitled to it, doesn't answer the question about whether he should be setting an example to Americans who don't have that luxury.

Trump was never questioned about his weekends off or at the golf course

6. This wasn't about Congress people or Trump, it was about Biden setting an example.

I don’t see people resenting trips to his home.

he is President 24/7. There are no real breaks for a president. If he serves two terms, that is 8 years of living in a fish bowl, always on call. As nice as the White House may be, no one wants to be there every day.

without having to worry about catching a deadly disease from someone on their non-private plane or train or bus.

As I said, I know Biden is entitled to take AF1 and of course he's entitled to visit his home in DE, but the question was about setting an example at this particular time when travel for most people is fraught.

have been for months. I have distant trumper family from Mo that are skiing in CO this week, their group flew there from 3 cities in 3 states. They have taken 6 vacations to 5 states and Jamaica since May.

I was on a zoom meeting with a guy who has been to CO and MO since August and is leaving next week for a vacation in FL.

A niece has been in three states in the last month following her daughter’s volleyball competition.

The only people I know who have cancelled travel plans are for international travel.

If planes are flying and gas stations are open and hotels take reservations then people will travel.

I have personally canceled 5 interstate trips, and 2 trips of more than 100 miles instate.

I also skipped getting a second opinion for treatment of the rare cancer I was diagnosed with in December because getting a second opinion would have required traveling to Texas, Minnesota, or Massachusetts.

I don't think I'm that extraordinary.
