Lamont's been pretty cautious, there must be big pressure.

I'm certain the my Jewish e-mail friend in CT won't be visiting restaurants anytime soon, for example, until she's convinced the pandemic is quashed.

Our testing positivity rate has dropped from about 10% to 2% in recent weeks, but only a fool would think it won't climb again--and soon!--as the new variants spread.

I'm extra grumpy about this because I've been trying since Monday to get a vaccine appointment.

but not completely. Movie theaters, retail, restaurants, gyms etc are all able to increase capacity significantly here as of tomorrow.

Which is FUCKING NUTS considering our case count has increased more than 20% in the last 2 weeks, the CDC is saying DON'T DO IT, the NYTimes has us in the 'cases are lower but increasing' category, and we have a significant number of cases of the UK variant floating around, including in my county.

Fuck all this shit.

And I say this as a small business owner who has struggled to pay our rent for the last year. I'm still not letting ANYONE in my store.

Curbside only, motherfuckers. (Thank you, loyal customers)

(Sorry/not sorry for the rant, I am just SO FUCKING FRUSTRATED and all this outrage about the red states leaves out the fact that some supposedly enlightened Dem governors are making really fucking bad decisions right now...)

WAY too soon. I won't be visiting any of these businesses until at least a full month after my second vaccine. Probably longer.

This news really upsets me. It’s too soon. We’re going to have to close down again because of this- and more people that didn’t have to die are going to. All in the name of the almighty dollar. My SO finally got a vaccine appointment this afternoon for his first shot- earliest available is end of May. I’m not even eligible yet.
