When (and if) a new Covid variant emerges in TX, should it be the *Abbott Texas* variant?

Or the *TX Abbott* variant? or some other name?

The Neanderthal-thinking Governor really needs to get credit in the creation of a new variant** (if one emerges).

Feel free to add your suggestions...

** I obviously am not hoping for a new variant, but Abbott is perfectly setting the conditions and environment for the creation of one.

I just googled and saw a few reports of a Texas strain.

I still think it should be named after Abbott!

What many people don't understand is that people haven't taken the state response seriously at all since the beginning.

Towns, cities, and counties have always been the ones taking it seriously with restrictions, as well as schools and businesses. The mask policies for most aren't changing.

His act is still grossly irresponsible but he's counting on most people to ignore him and wear masks anyway. That's been his MO all along.
