Weds. was fine, but Thursday morning was sore, tired , and ended up sleeping 6 hours. Feeling better so far this morning after sleeping some last night, and not sore now. Now with Abbott lifting the covid restrictions I will not do business with places that allow no masks. Too many unknowns with variants around , and I'm in a higher risk group of serious problems if I were to still get it. Until the vaccine rates are a lot higher I won't risk it. Abbotts going to get people killed, and hopefully I won't be one of them.

(8,065 posts)So far no soreness (Round 1 pain kicked in that evening).
I felt sleepy and turned in last night but that's normal for me.
Not feeling out of sorts thus far, I wonder when I should expect nastiness to show up

(4,291 posts)Today marks my 14-day "anniversary" of getting the second dose. (Yes, I had an almost identical reaction on the morning of day 2). My immune system should be prepared to fight off the virus. Still awaiting the CDC to announce its revised guidelines for post-vax. And I have my shot-card tucked safely away for when I do feel ready to travel again.
Who would have ever suspected we'd be celebrating getting a vaccination? I try very hard not to make my news sound like I'm gloating, especially since so many relatives and friends are still waiting for the first vax. They don't begrudge my high-risk eligibility, nor my persistence and ingenuity in getting the first appointment. I just hope their turns come sooner rather than later.

(13,871 posts)It seems to me people are having more problems with the second than the first. I'm curious if you have a good working immune system would your reaction to the vaccine be less? And if you have a poor immune system that the injection will effect you more? If that makes sense.
questions questions questions...

(58,604 posts)sounds like you have a handle on it, but real effectiveness takes a few days, maybe as much as 2 weeks for full protection.
Stay strong and smart.
