(22,912 posts)It always saddened me that a separate Human Species went extinct at the threshold of our collective memory. Neanderthals survived for hundreds of thousands of years. If they could have at least made it another 35,000 years we would probably know a whole lot more about them. At least some of their DNA lives on.
