bear spray is the most effective deterrent in a bear encounter. Much more likely by far to end with the desired effect (uninjured human) than a firearm.

ETA - I am going to be SO PISSED if these a-holes make it more difficult or even impossible to buy bear spray. I need it.

right away - early in the process as the first ones began to breach. The only thing our country should be expected to provide for this guy is a closed casket funeral as far as I'm concerned.
