A celebratory whiskey on the rocks toast when I scheduled my first Covid vaccine.

I had one in martini glass we have, he made me another but I only had one sip, was feeling it too much already! 😁😜

and they made enough iced tea for the 3 of them and I said I liked iced tea and could I have some. My eldest aunt said with a serious look on her face, "It's not tea, Jeanie."

Every one of them lived a very long life. I don't know how long they had been drinking "bourbon and branch."

Well, as my mother used to say "It's five o'clock somewhere!"

On a more serious note, we lost a beloved family member to alcoholism. She was never without her large "coffee mug." She died 10 years ago this coming summer. She was a beautiful soul and I thought I'd never get over her death. She was my age.

You more often hear about the alcoholics who are violent and abusive.

I wonder if her sweet nature made it more difficult, rather than less, to approach her on the subject of treatment.

her father was a mean, ugly human being, but she was always trying to please him.

I am happy to announce that my grandchild, now 16, is taking her name since has found he is transgendered (he never knew her since he lives in California and she was in upstate NY).

I cry with joy now. S/he lives in Hollywood where his mom, my daughter, works in the film industry. His/her community is just fine with this. The school is taking it all in stride. there are no reports of bullying. Hooray for Hollywood!

That was my morning. Is that a good enough excuse for drinking at noon? Actually I am drinking - a wonderful cup of coffee - with a couple of cookies.😋.

So a little later this afternoon after double checking my work, I will drop the paperwork at the accountant’s office and then go to a nearby yarn store for some real fun. Yes, I am easily amused.
